The Wordless Visage: Hymns Of A Godly Reverie

Published on: 3 February 2022

About the book: In conversations with The Wordless Visage that idles upon the poet’s threshold, talking in silences of philosophy of the heart and soul, never uttering its name, never introducing itself, with its reflections upon nature, life and god as its only identity, it leaves, never entering, his uninspiring haven, yet to be remembered in its very light, in its reckonings, forever.

      1. I have read Deb’s Untimely Conversations and he comes out with this book not even a whole year later.
The few things that I thought could be done better while reading Untimely Conversations were completely resolved in this one. It is somehow deeper than the first book even though in terms of literature/metaphors the first book surpasses the second.
It is not only easier to read because of how its written but I find that it talks about even more than Deb’s first book , especially on the topic of spirituality which is one of the core subjects of the book itself. I couldn’t find any mistake or box that didn’t tick , for me it was a 5/5. Its not that short but its not very long very you find yourself drowning amongst words and losing your focus every two minutes. Some of the poetry in it is my absolute favourite. If I had to describe the book in three words , I’d say spirituality , beauty and perspective.
After reading this you would definitely want to read more from Debojit and specifically of more variety. I feel this book really brought out the fact that this author can be sort of a variable in his work, the book was like one genre split into sections , each speaking about something different than the other. Deb’s work is great but because so much of it stems from his love for philosophy , maths , deep thinking – to am outsider it can feel somewhat monotonous – and that is the myth this book breaks. You will find layers in each piece in this book and everything will still be cohesive.
        Highly recommended. A must read
